Junior Year in Spain (JYS) Scholarships

Sweet Briar College and the Junior Year in Spain program offer scholarship assistance for incoming, new students who want to major or minor in Spanish and who have an interest in studying abroad in Sweet Briar's JYS program in Seville, Spain.

Scholarship Award
The scholarships are worth up to $2,000 per year, and are renewable for each of your four years at Sweet Briar, as long as you maintain a 3.0 grade point average and major or minor in Spanish.
Selection Criteria

Scholarship amounts are awarded by the director of JYS in consultation with the dean of admissions, and are based on a student's overall high school grade point average, her grades in high school Spanish courses, and her SAT/ACT scores. Applicants must have completed a minimum of three years of high school Spanish to be eligible, with preference given to students who have at least four years of Spanish. For transfer students eligible for this scholarship, college coursework in Spanish will be taken into consideration.
