Scholarships

College is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your future, and Sweet Briar is prepared to make a significant investment in you.

We offer academic (merit) scholarships based on your high school grade-point average and standardized test score (and we will mix scores from different test dates to get your best total test score). Our scholarships range up to $15,000 per year and are renewable annually provided you maintain the academic criteria indicated in your scholarship notification letter.

You do not need to submit a separate application to be considered for a merit scholarship (with the exception of the specific awards listed below). All applicants to the College (first-year and transfer) will be considered for a merit scholarship when they apply for admission and meet an appropriate application deadline (ED, RD, or transfer).

The following scholarships do require a separate application that is due by the date indicated on the individual scholarship application:

In the fall of your senior year, Sweet Briar will provide an estimate of your merit scholarship and need-based assistance package if you complete and return to us the early estimator along with a copy of your high school transcript and standardized test scores.
