We invite you to visit Sweet Briar any time during the year. Tours are available during regular office hours.
We recommend that while you're here, we get a chance to know you — to interview you. Let us know about two weeks in advance of your visit so we can create a comprehensive schedule tailored to your individual interests. If you live far away, no problem. We can talk via phone or Skype.
Nearly all Sweet Briar students live in campus residence halls, and they are eager to introduce you to college life. We offer overnight visits with hostesses on first year halls weekly from Sunday to Thursday. We do ask that you are a junior or senior in high school in order to stay overnight. When you arrange your campus visit, ask about this chance to experience Sweet Briar in this way.
While college is in session, and with at least two weeks advance notice, we can arrange any of the following special appointments:
- Meet with Faculty
We encourage you to meet with a faculty member in an area of academic interest (in addition to class visitation in areas of academic interest) so you can talk one-on-one with someone who will be directly involved in your academic experience. If you are unsure about your future major, a more general conversation with a faculty member will give you the opportunity to see the quality and range of our academic offerings, and to see that professors at Sweet Briar truly are committed to your success.
- Meet with Athletic Coaches
The concept of the scholar-athlete thrives at Sweet Briar, and our coaches are happy to meet with you while you are on campus. If you have been a high school athlete and are interested in playing a varsity sport in college, please request a meeting with the head coach of your sport. This conversation will give you insight into the Division III athletic experience and an opportunity to see how you might fit into the future of that program. To learn more about athletics at Sweet Briar, please visit the athletics website and/or complete one of the online athletic questionnaires.
- Meet with Riding Coaches
If you ride now and would like to contine riding in college, schedule an appointment with one of our riding instructors to learn about our nationally-recognized equestrian program. As part of this appointment, we encourage you to tour our wonderful riding facilities. To learn more about the riding program and to begin a conversation with a riding instructor before visiting campus, please complete the online information request form.
