Alumni College in Spain

Spain has more cities designated World Heritage Sites by UNESCO than any other country in the world. Four of these special cities - Avila, Segovia, Salamanca and Toledo, along with Madrid, form the core of this exciting tour.

Our base is Avila, an ancient city surrounded by 11th century walls, in the shadow of which stands our hotel for 7 nights, the first-class Palacio Valderrabanos Gran Hotel. Excursions include the ancient city of Salamanca with its famous university; a trip to Madrid to see the Prado Museum; a visit to El Escorial, the magnificent monastery of San Lorenzo; the Valley of the Fallen, an underground basilica constructed by Franco as a tribute to those who died in the Spanish Civil War; Toledo, with its magnificent cathedral; and Segovia, a charming town of Romanesque churches and 15th century palaces.
