General Information

On Campus

Each day of Alumnae College occurs on campus, and includes a number of interactive lecture sessions, along with group activity and ample breaks and free time, and closes with a relaxed and eventful evening of cocktails, dinner, and visiting with participating faculty and friends.

Accomodations & Dining

Alumnae College participants stay on campus at the recently renovated Florence Elston Inn and Conference Center. The Inn includes 38 beautifully decorated rooms with cable television, private baths, many with private balconies and terraces, individual heating and air-conditioning, handicapped facilities, and direct dial phones, as well as computer hookups, and elevator access. Meals are served at the Conference Center and the Student Commons.

*The 2003 April weekend seminar will begin with an opening reception and dinner on Friday, and will conclude with a farewell luncheon on Sunday. The 2003 June session will begin with an opening reception and dinner on Sunday, and will conclude with a farewell breakfast on Friday.

Commuters Welcome!

Alumnae College welcomes participants who are local to Sweet Briar College, who wish to commute to campus daily to enjoy the full program, but forgo overnight accommodations at the Florence Elston Inn. Commuter rates are listed below.

Fees

April Weekend Seminar
Our comprehensive fee of $300 per person/double occupancy covers 2 nights/3 days on-campus lodging, all meals, receptions, lectures, breaks, instruction materials, and admission to supporting activities and events. The commuter rate includes all of the above except lodging. Following your registration in the program, you will receive additional program materials. To hold a space, a deposit of $100 per person is due with your registration. Full payment will be due March 21, 2003. Reservations received after this date are subject to availability, and must be accompanied by payment in full. In the event of cancellation, your total fees less the $100 deposit will be refunded to you.

$300 per person, double occupancy
$375 per person, single occupancy
$200 per person, commuter rate

June Session
Our comprehensive fee of $800 per person/double occupancy covers 5 nights/6 days on-campus lodging, all meals, receptions, lectures, breaks, instruction materials, and admission to supporting activities and events. The commuter rate includes all of the above except lodging. Following your registration in the program, you will receive additional program materials. To hold a space, a deposit of $200 per person is due with your registration. Full payment will be due April 28, 2003. Reservations received after this date are subject to availability, and must be accompanied by payment in full. In the event of cancellation, your total fees less the $200 deposit will be refunded to you.
