What are your pre-game habits? Before every game I take a few minutes for myself to relax and pray.

What things do your teammates do to get you pumped up and ready to play ? The best thing they do is to make me laugh and forget about anything that's going on -- there is never a dull moment with these girls.

What is the most rewarding part about being a student-athlete? Being able to do what I love when I am still in school. Things I learn on the court can be used in the classroom and visa versa.

Favorite characteristic(s) about your team? We're like a big family. We have our good times and bad, but we always overcome it together.

Describe your best athletic moment at Sweet Briar. This past season when we played Shenandoah. The team came together as a team and played with our hearts to make that a strong win.

Why did you choose Sweet Briar? Academically, I knew I couldn't go wrong with SBC and playing volleyball helped make the final decision. A professor also made a huge impact on my choice when I visited -- she was welcoming and encouraging.

Best class you have taken at Sweet Briar? Women, Sport and Film. It was a class that made me wake up and realize that to this day, even with Title IX, women are not given the credit they should receive for being athletes.

Describe a time when you have done research with a professor, spent extra time on class work, or gotten help for a class. I was having troubles with Spanish my first year, so I forced myself to go to tutoring each week. It's amazing how an extra push will help. I ended up with an A in the class.

How did you decide on your major(s)? Math has always been the one subject I enjoyed the most.

Are you involved in any volunteer work? I volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and I am the MySpace coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club in Danville, Va.

What are your plans for after graduation? I plan to attend optometry school and eventually get married and start a family.

When I am not participating in my sport, I enjoy... spending time with friends and family.
