Honors Summer Research Program
Summer 2008

The 2008 Honors Summer Research Program will begin May 19, 2008 and continue through July 11, 2008.

Application Schedule:
Friday, February 29, 2008 - students must complete the "Intent to Apply" form online. (see link to form in side column sub-menu)
Friday March 21, 2008, 12:00 noon - Completed applications are due to Julie Hemstreet, in the Honors Center
Monday April 7, 2008 - Students awarded fellowships will be notified

Application material:
1. a 500-word description of the proposed research project
2. an explanation of how this research opportunity fits into the student's overall academic plan
3. a research bibliography
4. a project timeline
5. two faculty recommendations, including one from the project sponsor (see link to form in side column sub-menu)
6. signed copies of the student and faculty contracts (see link to form in side column sub-menu)

Students should have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and have completed at least one 200-level courses relevant to the project. However, all interested students are encouraged to submit proposals.

Limited funds are available to students to cover costs associated with their research (equipment, supplies, books, etc.). Campus housing is available during the eight week term (see side column sub-menu link to summer campus housing contract).
