Flexible Spending Accounts
By setting aside a portion of salary (before taxes) into a flexible spending account, eligible employees can reduce medical
bills and child/dependent care costs up to 40%.
Sweet Briar offers two flexible spending accounts.
- A Medical Spending Account is used to pay for medical expenses.
- A Dependent Care Spending Account used to pay for dependent care for children and/or a disabled dependent. In addition, Sweet Briar offers a Premium Expense Account which can be used allows employees to use tax-free dollars for medical and dental premiums.
- All active, full-time employees are eligible to participate in the FSA effective the first day of the month following date of employment.
- Open enrollment is held in November.
