The Lambda Eta Chapter of Delta Phi Alpha, the National German Honor Society, inducted seven Sweet Briar students during an initiation ceremony on May 1 at Cochran Library.
The students selected for membership are
Brittany Deane ’08, Briana Deane ’08, Jessica Lile ’09, Mary Pat Jones ’08, Doreen McVeigh ’09, Brooke Agee ’09 and
Maggie Nicholson ’09.
The national honor society was founded in 1927, and Lambda Eta was established at Sweet Briar in 2001.
According to its constitution, Delta Phi Alpha recognizes excellence in the study of German and promotes the study of the German language, literature and civilization.
