In the 2010 edition of the Princeton Review's guide book, "The Best 371 Colleges," Sweet Briar was ranked in seven of the top-20 category lists.
For the second year in a row, the College came in at No. 2 for "Most Accessible Professors" and "Most Beautiful Campus." Sweet Briar also ranked No. 3 in "Professors Get High Marks," No. 8 for "Best Career Services," No. 10 for "Class Discussions Encouraged," No. 12 for "Easiest Campus to Get Around" and No. 16 for "Students Study the Most."
The rankings are based on students' responses to the
Princeton Review's 80-question survey asking about academics, administration,
campus life, student body and themselves. About 122,000 students attending the
371 schools listed in the book completed the survey for the 2010 edition.
The schools in the book are not ranked academically nor are they ranked 1 to 371
in any single category.
"Each of our 371 'best' colleges offers great academics,"
Princeton Review author Robert Franek said in a press release dated July 27. "However,
we don't rank schools academically because our goal is to help students find
and get into the best school for them.
"Instead, we tally 62 ranking lists based on how students at these schools
rated their campus experiences, plus ratings on institutional data we collect
on issues important to applicants. It's all about the fit."
The new rankings and profiles of the 371 schools are posted at the Princeton
