The Sweet Briar Vixen volleyball team hosted the Randolph-Macon College (Ashland) Yellow Jackets tonight at Williams Gymnasium.  The Yellow Jackets won in straight sets, 3-0.  The set scores were 25-18, 25-10, and 25-14.

Team highlights for the Vixen squad include players Laura Jett (‘10/Littleton, Colo.), juniors Cassidy Jones (Rustburg, Va.) and Ashley Winters (Mechanicsville, Va.) with six kills apiece. 

First-year player Camille Hanes (Charlotte, N.C.) helped out in the setting position with 19 assists in her first game as a Vixen.  Ashley Winters had the team high of 11 digs on the defensive side.

“Cassidy and Laura’s hitting percentage was fantastic.  This Sweet Briar team played well and members stepped up as three of the regular starters were out with injuries,” said head coach Beth Huus of her team’s effort.

The Vixens will host Methodist College on Friday at 5 p.m. at Williams Gymnasium.
