Emergency Communications System
Sweet Briar College has a state-of-the-art communication system called e2Campus to quickly notify individuals in case of emergency, including weather-related events such as tornados. This is the same technology in use at an increasing number of colleges around the country.
What is it?
E2Campus is a mass notification system that has the capacity to alert students, faculty, residents, staff, family and friends with text messages on their cell phones. In addition to cell phones, e2Campus enables SBC to send important campus information to you via our Web site, RSS, PDA, email, text pager, Google, AOL or MY Yahoo pages. The choice is yours!
Do I have to register?
This service is completely voluntary. You may opt in or opt out at any time.
How much does it cost?
The service is provided free of charge by SBC. You are, however, responsible for messaging charges by your service provider. You will not receive messages for which you did not register. Your information is not shared with or sold to a third party.
What if I have more than one phone number?
You can enter up to two phone numbers and two email addresses. Those who wish to do so can opt to list a family member’s or friend’s phone number or email address.
Who can register for the service?
Anyone with an SBC email account can opt into the service.
How do I sign up?
- Go to my.sbc.edu
- Enter your email username and password (i.e. firstname.lastname@example.org, username is suzy14)
- Click on the "log in" button
- Once you are logged into mySBC, you will reach the welcome page
- Click on the "Orientation" tab
- Click on "e2Campus Emergency Notification"
