Mail and Package Delivery

Be sure to give your new address to everyone you want to hear from while you are at Sweet Briar. When you arrive, go to the U.S. Post Office in the Meta Glass lobby (first floor) to complete your P.O. Box application and receive your combination. The cost is approximately $48 for the year and is billed by the business office. All new students will be notified of their P.O. Box number before arriving to campus. Your box number will stay the same for your entire stay at Sweet Briar.

Mail should be addressed to you as follows:

Your Name
P. O. Box Number
Sweet Briar College
Sweet Briar, VA 24595

Packages sent to you via UPS and Federal Express should be addressed as follows:

Your Name
P.O. Box
Sweet Briar College
134 Chapel Road
Sweet Briar, VA 24595

Your packages will be delivered to the post office. Please note that packages may be sent in advance. However, packages will be stored in a non-climate controlled area. DO NOT send items that are sensitive to extreme heat (i.e. soap, makeup, etc.). An email will be sent to your Sweet Briar email to inform you that your packages have arrived.

You may also ship packages from Sweet Briar. The post office provides shipping services via UPS and Federal Express during college business hours. There is a small handling fee per package(s). These transactions are processed at the rear of the post office.

Luggage

Any baggage or trunks sent to the College by UPS, FedEx or trucking firms will be in the post office when you arrive. Make sure that you ship your items far enough in advance of your arrival. Call your local UPS for details/charges for “One Time” pick-up service from your home. Please note that Sweet Briar cannot accept deliveries that have not been prepaid. An email will be sent to your Sweet Briar email to inform you that your package(s) have arrived.

Questions should be directed to postal services at (434) 381-6176.
