Discover the major precursors of 20^th Century art in a chronological examination of the major artistic movements in Paris from 1860 to 1900.

After a review of academic art, from Monet to new painting, Impressionism will be studied (through the works of Degas, Renoir, Monet); the Neo-Impressionism (Seurat, Signac); symbolism and primitivism (Gauguin); Post-Impressionism (Van Gogh, Cezanne, Gauguin and Toulouse Lautrec); the Nabis (Bonnard, Denis, Vuillard); and precursors of Art Nouveu.
