Dr. Gervasio completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Virginia Tech where her dissertation focused on nano-scale patterning and Monte Carlo simulation of co-suspensions containing polymers and nanoparticles. As a recipient of a National Physical Science Consortium fellowship (now known as GFSD), she also worked as a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology as part of the Fire Research Division. Her academic interests include nanomaterials, Monte Carlo simulation of polymer-containing suspensions, and traditional metallurgical techniques.
