Sweet Briar Honors Summer Research Program - This program provides students with the opportunity to pursue an independent research project with an on-campus mentor. The chemistry program has an excellent track record for student participation in this program. A stipend and on-campus housing is provided.
Teaching and Research Assistantships - Chemistry majors and students who have excelled in lower level courses are recruited to be paid teaching assistants for introductory courses. Paid student research assistantships are also available for chemistry students who wish to work on faculty research projects.
NSF-REU Programs - The National Science Foundation offers Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs that allow students to pursue research projects in the natural sciences under the guidance of a mentor. These are paid experiences and often include funding for living expenses and travel.
