Political Science bridges the gap between theory and real-world politics and empowers women to lead.

Political Science

Sweet Briar women learn to think deeply and broadly about the impact of policies on people, markets and institutions.

Increasingly, politics affects our daily lives. Our global world is becoming ever more interdependent and the issues that impact domestic and international affairs are complex. The study of political science helps students understand the complicated issues involved — both historically and today — and prepares them for graduate work and careers in politics and related fields.

Political Science Events

Join us on Wednesday, November 29, when David Ebner, Assistant Professor of Political Science, presents “All Games Have the Same Rules.”

Sweet Talks are monthly presentations by faculty and students. The entire campus community is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
