Earth Week

Each spring, Sustainability Club and the Center for Human & Environmental Sustainability collaborate with groups across campus to celebrate “Earth Week” through over 20 events and activities.

Tuesday, 9 April:

Henna with MCC:  6pm-8pm, Reid Pit

Thursday, 11 April:

Local Policy for Climate Change (Vicky Harder’s Senior Thesis Defense):  4pm, Guion 202- no admit after 4:05pm

Monday, 22 April:

Earth Day Lunch: 11am-2pm, Upper Quad.  Featuring Back Sydney Band from HSC, produce from the Big Greenhouse, and support from AR&D, as well as Earth Day Produce Market with Ag Operations students (cash or check accepted) from 11am-1pm.

Sweet Dancer’s Dancing Under the Stars: 6-7:30pm, Lower Quad

“Under Land, Over Sky” Talk with Artist Susie Ganch: 7:30pm-9pm, Pannell.  Enjoy Cloud Cakes and Greenhouse Lettuce Wraps!

Tuesday, 23 April:

Campus Clean-up with Falls on Nose: 12-2pm, Meet in Lower Quad by 12:05

Citrus Bird Feeder Making with Audubon Society: 5pm-6:30pm, Lower Quad

Wednesday, 24 April:

Vineyard Walk with Dr. Powell - 9am-10am, meet at the corner of the Guion Parking Lot closest to the Softball Field.  We will start walking to the vineyard promptly at 9:01am.

Granola Bar: 12pm-1pm, Prothro Atrium 

Birding Walk with Audubon Club: 5pm-6pm, Top of Boathouse Road 

Outdoor Movie Night with Sustainability Club 8:30pm-10:30pm, Lower Quad

Sunrise Hike with The Outdoor Program: 5:45am, Meet at the Outdoor Program Office in the FAC (link to pre-event formscoming soon)

Sitting on Clouds, Thinking about Sustainability: 2-5pm (come and go), Pannell

The Tortured Earth Poets Department: 4-5pm, Pannell.  Bring your own poetry/favorite poems, or read poetry and lyrics provided!

PLARN with Golf and Tennis Teams: 5-6:30pm, Reid Pit

Dancing with the Stars Boathouse: 9-12am, Boathouse  (BYO empty water bottle—we will have coolers with iced cold water)

Friday, 26 April:

Farm to Dumpling: Harvest 8am-9am. Be in front of the big greenhouse at 8am if you want to help.

Earth & Body Works (Herbal Body Care Product Making) with the Sustainability Center & Club, 1pm-2pm. Sign-ups are closed.
