Visiting artist Hope Rovelto exhibits her work in the Pannell Gallery

Sweet Briar College is excited to announce the opening of artist Hope Rovelto’s exhibition in the Pannell Gallery. Her work will be on display from Sept. 30 through Dec. 14. “The T-Shirt Collection: Hope Rovelto,” showcases her unique screen-printed T-shirts.
Hope is an artist, educator and activist based in Portland, Maine. She earned her MFA in ceramics from Rochester Institute of Technology and her BFA in sculpture from Maine College of Art. She is also the owner of Little Chair Printing, a custom screen-printing shop where she creates and prints custom-designed T-shirts for all kinds of clientele.
Hope is an advocate and supporter of LGBTQ+ rights as well as the rights and lives of all ethnicities. Hope’s business is proud to be a part of the Maine Black Business Pledge. She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of the Arts and Philadelphia University in Philadelphia, Pa.
An artist reception will take place on the opening day of the exhibition, Sept. 30 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Pannell. Join us to meet and speak with her or visit the exhibition during gallery hours through Dec. 14. During her time on campus, Hope will also be visiting various classes to talk about her life and work.
