Just starting to shop for colleges, or still haven’t found the perfect match? You’re in luck:
Virginia Private College Week offers the ultimate campus visit marathon. From Monday through Saturday (July 23-28), you can check out participating colleges all over Virginia. It’s a lot like speed-dating, but without the awkward conversation (we promise!).
Sweet Briar is one of 24 stops you can tour as you put together your list of dream schools. You’ll even receive three application fee waivers from participating colleges if you attend at least three different open houses during VPCW! (There’s no application fee at Sweet Briar, so
applying here is always free.) As a special perk, the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia will also be doing a drawing for a $500 Amazon gift card.
Sessions at most schools start at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. They last about two hours, so you have time to hop in the car and drive to your next location. Of course you might have a hard time seeing all of our 3,250 acres in just two hours, but you can try. Or, stay a little longer. 😄
To make the most of your campus tour, senior admissions counselor Gloria Simon has this advice: “Relax and enjoy the visit. Ask questions. Plan to come back for our open house weekends!” Sounds good to us.
