
Sweet Briar’s Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association team traveled to the coast last weekend to compete at Old Dominion University. The event, which took place at Bridlewood Farm in Chesapeake on Sunday, yielded several ribbons for the Vixens.
In open flat, Aoife Magner ’19 and Makayla Benjamin ’18 both finished third in their sections. In open fences, Benjamin won her phase and Magner earned another third place.
Senior Jules Sudol ’18 placed second in intermediate flat, while classmate Courtney Barry won her novice-flat class and was sixth in intermediate fences.
In novice flat and fences, Lily Peterson ’21 placed second and third, respectively. Also competing in novice fences was Kaitlyn Duecker ’21, who placed fourth in her first IHSA competition.
In advanced walk, trot, canter, Marina Biel ’18 placed fifth, while Abbey Narodowy ’20 scored a sixth-place finish in her section. Sophomore Cassie Mills wrapped up the day in the walk, trot division with a fifth place.
