Music major and Student Government Association president Jessie Schuster will present her senior year recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 23, in Memorial Chapel.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature classical and contemporary works written for the alto saxophone, including “Carnival of Venice” by Jules Demersseman (1833-1866), “Tableaux de Provence” by Paule Maurice (1910-1967), “Concertino da Camera” by Jacques Ibert (1890-1962), “Pequeña Czarda” by Pedro Iturralde (b. 1929) and “Diversion” by Bernhard Heiden (1910-2000). Assistant professor of music Anna Billias will provide accompaniment on the piano.
Following the concert, attendees are invited to a reception in the Elston Inn Lounge.
Schuster, who also majors in history and minors in gender studies and medieval and Renaissance studies, will graduate in May with an interdisciplinary honors degree.
