College looks ahead to eventful weekend

Sweet Briar is getting ready for a weekend jam-packed with athletic and alumnae events. The College also will host its inaugural Explore Computer Science and the second Explore Environmental Science weekend for high school girls. In addition, prospective students will be on campus for an Accepted Applicants open house.

Highlights include the College’s 90th Annual Horse Show and the Athletics and Riding Hall of Fame inductions, as well as a golf tournament at Poplar Grove.

Friday, April 7

  • 3 p.m. – Tennis vs. Randolph | Amherst Middle School

  • 5 p.m. – Explore Computer Science and Explore Environmental Science participants arrive

  • 6 p.m. – Friends of the Library Gerhard Masur Memorial Lecture by President Stone | Boxwood Room, Conference Center

Saturday, April 8

  • All day – Explore Computer Science and Explore Computer Science projects

  • 8:30 a.m. – 90th Annual Horse Show | Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center

  • 9 a.m. – Sweet Briar Classic | Poplar Grove Golf Course

  • 1 p.m. – Softball vs. Eastern Mennonite | Softball Field

Sunday, April 9

  • 9:30 a.m. – Athletics and Riding Hall of Fame Induction | Josey Dining Room

  • 11 a.m. – Accepted Applicants Weekend begins

  • 1 p.m. – Lacrosse Alumnae Game | Babcock Field

  • 2 p.m. – Tennis vs. Virginia Wesleyan | Amherst Middle School
