The National Field Hockey Coaches Association has announced its academic awards for the 2016 season, and three Sweet Briar College players have been honored. Emily Dodson, Kiley Jolicoeur and Jessica Lusby were all named to the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

The National Academic Squad includes all student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2016-17 school year.

For Lusby, a senior, and Dodson, a junior, this is their third straight season on the National Academic Squad. Fellow senior Jolicoeur was named to the team as a sophomore and last season was named a Scholar of Distinction for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher.

Sweet Briar is one of nine Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools to have student-athletes on this year’s National Academic Squad.
