Emily Schlosberg and Sweet Briar companion Theodore scored big in Lexington.

As students return from spring break, Sweet Briar College riders are gearing up for competition and looking back on another victorious weekend.

On Saturday, Emily Schlosberg ’19 competed at the House Mountain Horse Show in Lexington with Sweet Briar’s Theodore. Winning both of its over-fences trips made the duo champion in the adult hunters. They also won the SWVHJA Hunt Seat Medal class.

Schlosberg will compete at the IHSA Zone 4, Region 2 finals at the University of Virginia on Sunday, March 19, along with teammates Makayla Benjamin ’18 (open fences and open flat), Maddy Lee ’17 (novice fences and novice flat) and Aoife Magner ’19 (intermediate flat).

Next, the College will host an equitrial at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center March 24-26. An ANRC Junior Horsemanship Challenge Finals qualifying event, the equitrial is open to the public for competition and viewing. Jill Randles will serve as judge. The finals will take place at Sweet Briar in May.
