High school seniors, transfer and adult students are invited to visit Sweet Briar College on March 3 or March 24 for a special open house. The Sweet Briar Sampler will include campus tours and a discussion panel on student life and financial aid, as well as same-day admission.

The open houses are held in addition to two Accepted Applicants weekends in March and April and a Junior/Sophomore Open House in April. The idea is to give students a last-minute chance to get to know Sweet Briar and complete an admissions application all in one day, says Bill Allen, vice president for enrollment management. The College will review completed applications and offer admission to qualified candidates “on the spot.”

Open house events on March 3 and March 24 kick off at 10:30 a.m. with coffee and pastries in the admissions office, followed by a tour of campus at 11. At 12:15, attendees will gather for lunch in Prothro, where they will have the option to sit with other students who share their academic interests. A general panel from 1 to 2 p.m. will feature College staff who will answer participants’ questions about financial aid, admissions, residence life and academics.

The schedule wraps up from 2 to 4 p.m. with optional tours of the riding center, the Fitness and Athletics Center and the arts barn. Immediate applicants also will have the chance to attend individual meetings with admissions counselors and financial aid staff.
