The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its Scholar All-America teams for the 2016 fall semester and once again, the Sweet Briar College swim team has made the list.

The SBC swim team registered a 3.04 GPA during the fall semester and in doing so, joins foes Bridgewater College, Emory & Henry College, Greensboro College, Hollins University and Washington and Lee University as the only Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools honored.

To be considered for the Scholar All-America honor, the team must have achieved a 3.0 GPA or better during the 2016 fall semester.

In total, 638 teams across NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA were named Scholar All-America teams by CSCAA. That sets a new record for the number of teams the organization has recognized in one semester. Of those 638 teams, 109 were Division III women’s teams like Sweet Briar.

The swim team will return to the pool this Friday, when they travel to Ferrum College for a dual meet beginning at 6 p.m. This will serve as the Vixens’ final tune-up before the ODAC Championships, held Feb. 9-12 in Greensboro, N.C.
