A resident of Crofton, Md., Carroll has dedicated most of her professional life to serving the public sector. Most recently, she served as an assistant attorney general representing the Maryland Department of the Environment, working to enforce the state’s environmental laws and regulations to protect public health and the environment. She has practiced civil, criminal and administrative law, has vast experience in litigation, and has resolved thousands of cases.
“Priscilla has a proven ability to bring groups together, engaging many to find solutions and common ground,” said President Phil Stone. “Her deep love of Sweet Briar coupled with her desire to continue to foster connections among alumnae and students to work toward their future success will serve her well in this position.”
Carroll brings experience in problem solving through fair-minded advocacy, persuasion and negotiation. As a public servant, Carroll is community-minded and says she feels driven to serve the Sweet Briar community by working to strengthen the relationships and communication among alumnae and the Sweet Briar family. She strives to enhance the bonds of loyalty among the College’s alumnae over the next generation, which includes her daughter, a current student.
“As alumnae, we know that Sweet Briar is a unique and valuable institution. The devotion of our alumnae reflects how deeply formative our Sweet Briar years were in our becoming strong, confident and thoughtful leaders in our personal and professional lives,” Carroll said.
“The Sweet Briar community is filled with energy, enthusiasm and purpose right now, as her mission of empowering young women is renewed to generations, and her future is aimed at becoming the finest women’s liberal arts college in the country. I believe that strong relationships, good communication and celebrations of success and community among my fellow alumnae are key components in propelling the College toward her future success.”
