New and returning professors to bolster Sweet Briar College faculty

The fall 2016 semester will bring several familiar faces back to the Sweet Briar College faculty, as well as welcome five new professors.

Returning faculty include Bethany Brinkman, assistant professor of engineering; John Gregory Brown, Julia Jackson Nichols Professor of English and director of creative writing; Carrie Brown, Margaret Banister Writer-in-Residence; Suzanne Calvert, assistant professor of business; Mike Davis, assistant professor of biology; Katie Glaeser, access services librarian and assistant professor; Joshua Harris, assistant professor of music; Jessica Salvatore, assistant professor of psychology; and Steve Wassell, professor of mathematical sciences.

Dean of the Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs Pam DeWeese also announced several new faculty members.

They include Jeffrey Key, associate professor of government and international affairs, currently Haggerton Professor of Political Science and department head at Hardin-Simmons University; Neville McFerrin, visiting assistant professor of classics; Geoffrey Pollick, visiting assistant professor of religion, now serving at New York University; Mary Tackett, assistant professor of education, currently at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and renowned photojournalist Medford Taylor, adjunct instructor in the studio art department.
