Sweet Briar places fourth in ANRC National Championships

The Sweet Briar riding program competed at the American National Riding Commission National Championships April 15-17. Centenary College hosted the competition at its equestrian center in Hackettstown, N.J.

The young Vixen squads placed fourth in both the novice and national divisions.

Sweet Briar’s national division team was led by sophomore Makayla Benjamin and Dorado, who placed fourth overall and third in the program ride. Benjamin also rode Dorado to a third-place finish in the national division program ride.

Riding More About Me (Goodie), senior Maddie Coleman placed sixth overall in the novice division and won the novice derby phase of the competition. Sophomore Courtney Barry and Fernando finished in eighth place during the novice medal phase and finished 18th overall.

Senior Madi Cromwell, riding Patriot (Ethan), placed 10th in the novice program ride and finished 11th overall for the novice team.
