Dell party
Whether it was Dave Matthews’ fabled 1996 concert or a local hair metal group rocking the bandstand in the 1980s, dell parties have always held a special place in Sweet Briar legend. This is where memories were made, and where generations of alumnae bonded for the ages. Naturally, the only way to end the College’s March festivities is with a #SweetBriarForever Dell Party.

The party will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the center dell on campus (rain location: Prothro Dining Room), and will feature free live music, as well as delicious comestibles for purchase from popular local food trucks. The event is open to the public, and members of the Amherst community are especially welcome.

The Dylan Vestal Band will kick things off at 6 p.m. with contemporary rock, pop and indie covers, followed by country and bluegrass group Red Rooster Romeo’s from Amherst at 7 p.m. Food options include fresh, hand-tossed pizza from Upper Crust, pesco-vegetarian and vegan cuisine from Jacked Rabbit, and artisan grilled cheese sandwiches and soups from the Cheesy Rider. Homestead Creamery will provide dessert.

Sweet Briar students in attendance will receive a free tank top; remaining tanks will be sold for $10 to all other guests (adult sizes only) during the event. All proceeds will benefit Sweet Briar’s Next is Now campaign.
