Gospel Fest postoned to March 1

Due to inclement weather, Gospel Fest has been canceled.
Sweet Briar College’s Gospel Fest has been postponed due to weather to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in Memorial Chapel.

This joyous annual occasion brings together some of the best local gospel singers and groups for an afternoon of fellowship, move-your-feet and clap-your-hands music, and spiritual celebration.
Among those who will be performing are Pastor Paul Key of Fellowship Church of Christ, Dashay Glover, Rita Kidd-Margreete, Pearlie Sandidge, The Five Boys of Zion, Derrick Thompson and New Jerusalem Men’s Chorus. Numerous members of Sweet Briar’s choirs also will perform standard pieces from the gospel music repertoire.
The concert is free and open to the public. There is a nominal charge for a community meal at the College’s Prothro Dining Hall from 5 to 7 p.m., following the concert. For more information, contact the chaplain’s office at (540) 381-6103 or email Amy Payne at apayne@sbc.edu.
