Sweet Briar College has hired Alexis Quinn as its new sports information director. Quinn will be responsible for the promotion of Vixen Athletics in the media, team statistics, game management and maintaining the athletics website, among other duties.
Alexis Quinn
Quinn comes to SBC from PrestoSports, which provides web content management, in-game stat programs and LiveStats to collegiate athletic programs, including Sweet Briar. As a site development specialist, she worked with college departments to design and manage athletics websites, managed mobile applications and provided technical support.
Previously, Quinn spent the 2013-14 school year as the assistant sports information director at the University of Mount Union in Ohio, where she was the primary contact for 11 sports, including women’s soccer, swimming, tennis, lacrosse and softball. She also had the opportunity to work with the Raiders’ national finalist football team.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree in English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Quinn completed internships with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. She worked with the “Steelers Experience” fan program in 2012, and was a communications media intern with the Penguins in 2010.
“Alexis has strong sports information experience from both Mount Union and Presto Sports,” said director of athletics Teresa Boylan.
“The sports information director is a multi-faceted position that requires knowledge in a number of areas, and Alexis has all of the qualifications. I am confident that she will take over this position with professional ease and keep Vixen Athletics on track going forward. We welcome Alexis to Sweet Briar and look forward to having her on board.”
