Choirs take the stage

The Sweet Briar Chamber and Concert choirs, as well as Octavo, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in Memorial Chapel.
The eight-singer group Octavo will sing “The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun” as performed by Celtic Women. The piece will also showcase the talents of violinist Alyssa Sarmiento ’15. The Chamber Choir will perform two works by composer Joan Szymko: “Ave Maria” and “As a Woman.” The Concert Choir will perform, among other pieces, the traditional Zambian folk song “Bonse Abba.”
All three groups will also join together with the Sweet Briar Drum Ensemble to bring back the community favorite “Let the River Run.”
