The Sweet Briar College business management lab organized a powder puff football game series on Sunday, Nov. 7, matching up first-years against sophomores and juniors against seniors. The winning teams played each other to be named “champions.”

The juniors triumphed over the first-year class in a close game.

Leading up to game day, students in the lab sold 118 individual class jerseys as well as 91 long-sleeved generic powder puff T-shirts to raise both awareness and money for the Alzheimer’s Association. The shirts sold for $15.

Overall the event was a great success with more than 120 players and spectators participating.

Assistant professor of economics Joe Craig, head softball coach Danielle Delude, and head soccer coach Kevin Fabulich refereed the game.

The action also was covered by WSET 13, which aired the story on the evening news.
