Students in the Sweet Briar College fall 2010 business management lab are hosting powder puff football games from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at Babcock Soccer Field. The senior class will be taking on the junior class, and the sophomores will play the first-years.

The event is a fund-raiser with all proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Powder puff jerseys and t-shirts are available through the business management lab for $15 payable by cash or check. Snacks and refreshments will be provided at the games. Each semester, students in the lab apply management fundamentals learned in the classroom by planning and executing a series of projects to raise money or awareness for charities of their choice. They operate like a business, with individuals taking on executive and support roles, such as CEO, marketing officer and treasurer. The class emphasizes leadership, motivation, communications, organizational change and conflict resolution.
