Sweet Briar College voice instructor Marcia Thom will team up with good friend Paddy Dougherty on Tuesday, Dec. 23, for “Christmas and Candlelight,” a holiday music concert to benefit the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra.

The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at Oakwood Country Club in Lynchburg, also will feature Sweet Briar community members Anna Billias, piano accompanist for the Sweet Briar choirs, and harp instructor Virginia Schweninger.

Christmas classics — “White Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and others — are on the program, along with an original number by Dougherty. Accompanied by pianist Glenn Buck, Thom and Dougherty will sing several solos and duets, including a medley of kid’s Christmas favorites. Billias and Schweninger will perform solos.

Tickets are $75, which includes Champagne, coffee and sweets. To purchase tickets, visit LynchburgTickets.com.
