An article by Dr. Scott Hyman that documents a significant astronomical breakthrough appears in the March 3 edition of the journal, Nature.
Using research involving four SBC students as a foundation, Hyman, SBC professor of physics, and his fellow researchers detected a powerful new radio source whose unique properties point to the discovery of a new class of astronomical objects.
The Nature article is generating a flurry of media interest, and Hyman has recently been interviewed for features and articles in national and international outlets including CNN, ABC News Online, Science, National Geographic.com, BBC News, Reuters, and Scientific American.
Local and regional media outlets including the Lynchburg News & Advance, WVTF radio, and the Richmond Times-Dispatch have also covered the accomplishments of Hyman and his colleagues.
