Dear Members of the Sweet Briar Community,

In case you haven’t heard the thrilling news, I want everyone to know that the Sweet Briar College Vixens captured the first-ever National Collegiate Equestrian Association Single Discipline National Championship in Waco, Texas, on Saturday the 17th. You can read more about our team’s ride to victory on our website.

I am so proud of everything our riders and coaches have accomplished this year. Please join me in congratulating our winning NCEA team members, Katie Balding ’21, Kacie Freeburg ’23, Britt Larson-Jackson ’22, Emmy Longest ’24, Rachel Perry ’24 and Lily Peterson ’21, along with NCEA Coach Mimi Wroten and NCEA Assistant Coach Lizzie Fisch.

Over the last 100 years, Sweet Briar has become a destination school for riders of all types. Our riding program isn’t just one of the oldest in the nation – it’s one of the best! We can all look forward to another 100 years of equestrian excellence.

Sincerely,
Meredith Woo
