Nicholas Kinney came to Sweet Briar College in 2024 following serving as the director of bioinformatics for Orbit Genomics in Boulder, CO. Nicholas has also taught as a visiting assistant professor of biology at Ferrum College, junior faculty member at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, adjunct teaching professor at Bluefield College and at the high school level at Saint James School in Maryland. A previous grant recipient of the Research Eureka Accelerator Program, he has been published numerous times on topics ranging from “Ethnically biased microsatellites contribute to differential gene expression and glutathione metabolism in Africans and Europeans” to “Abundance of ethnically biased microsatellites in human gene regions.”
