Sarah Miller

B.A. Business, Equine Management Certificate, Sweet Briar College

Sarah Miller is a native of Virginia, and a graduate of Sweet Briar College with a Business degree and Equine Studies Management Certificate.

As a student of the Sweet Briar riding program, Miller was a member of the IHSA team, contributing to three Regional Championships the team and won three High Point Rider and two Reserve High Point Rider accolades. During her time, she represented Sweet Briar at IHSA Nationals as the Collegiate Cup Limit Fences and Limit Flat Rider. She brought home a seventh in the Collegiate Cup Limit Fences and helped Sweet Briar earn an eighth overall at the 2019 IHSA National Horse Show. As the senior team captain, she was the Region Champion for Limit Fences qualifying for the Zone Championship before it was canceled due to COVID. In addition to her time on the IHSA team, Sarah rode on the inaugural NCEA team.

Outside of collegiate competition, Sarah stayed involved in the riding program through competing at Southwest Virginia Hunter Jumper Association horse shows earning multiple championships and reserve championships. Numerous trophies at the Harriet Rogers Riding Center bear her name - including the Executive Challenge Trophy, Preston Brown Award, The Blackwell Trophy, The Pink and Green Award, and the Landino Memorial Trophy which she won three times. Sarah was also a member of the student run Riding Council. 

After graduating from Sweet Briar in 2020, Sarah worked as a barn manager and assistant trainer at a sales barn in Port Orange, FL. While in FL, she gained experience training numerous young imported horses from Europe. Since returning to Sweet Briar as a riding Instructor, she has assisted with an IHSA Regional Championship title, and a 3rd place team finish at Nationals.
