Open Dialogue: Navigating the job search and workplace as a member of the Queer community
9% of LGBTQ employees have left a job because the environment was unwelcoming, according to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). In a Harvard survey of LGBTQ folks, 20% of respondents reported experiencing discrimination when applying for positions. Attend this Open Dialogue to hear from Queer folks about their experience navigating the job search and workplace as a young professional. Recommendations and resources will be shared to support folxs as they go out into the world. You may be wondering, what is religious trauma? Religious trauma is real and pervasive, leaving many people feeling paralyzed and full of shame, and it is important that our community know that there are tools to begin to unpack it and compassionate therapists who are able to support that process of healing from religious trauma. Attend this Open Dialogue to hear from Suandria Lewis, a secular, client-centered mental health counselor, and life coach, about religious trauma and how to begin the healing process.
