Dining

We take food seriously at Sweet Briar. In our greenhouse, students grow produce for our dining hall. Our dining provider, Meriwether Godsey, is considered one of the finest in collegiate dining services.

Dining Options

Prothro Dining Room is bright, airy and spacious. It’s known for its long wooden tables for communal conversation and offers varied daily cuisine. In the center of the serving area is an extensive salad bar of greens delivered fresh from our own greenhouse, one hundred yards away. Surrounding the salad bar are counters teeming with delectable foods of all kinds, for every kind of dietary preference: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and more.

Beautifully redecorated, Daisy’s Cafe is a beloved spot where students, fully
caffeinated, conduct study sessions or simply relax. After hours, Daisy’s is a 24-hour self-service convenience shop with cold beverages, cold sandwiches and a variety of snacks.

Houston Bistro is a student favorite for burgers, chicken tenders and other grill items. Located in the Fitness and Athletic Center (FAC) it’s a great lunchtime alternative to Prothro dining.
